How long does it take?

A digital proof in two to three business days. Once you approve, we print and ship within five business days. US shipping is two to four business days after that. International is five to ten.

What if I don't love the proof?

You can ask for as many revisions as you want before we print. Different style, lighter background, change the ear angle, whatever. We don't print until you say go.

What kind of photo do I need?

Any clear, well-lit photo where you can see your pet's face works. Phone photos are great. Better light equals a better portrait, so daylight near a window beats flash. If you're not sure, send what you have and we'll tell you straight.

Can I have multiple pets in one portrait?

Yes. After you submit your proof request with photos of each pet (and a quick note), we'll quote any additional fee on the proof itself, so there are no surprises.

Do you do humans?

We don't, for now. We want to be the best pet portrait studio, not an okay one of everything.

What materials do you print on?

Canvas: 380gsm museum-grade with archival pigment ink. Framed prints: 200gsm matte fine art paper with acrylic glazing. Posters: 200gsm heavyweight matte. Everything is meant to last decades.

What if I want a custom size?

Email help@northstarpaws.store, we can usually accommodate sizes outside our standard catalog.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, to Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. Shipping is five to ten business days. Duties may apply depending on country.

What's your return policy?

If you're not in love, we'll make it right. Full re-do or refund within 60 days of delivery, no questions asked. We pay return shipping if we got something wrong.

How does the proof process work?

Click Get a free proof on any product page. Upload your pet's photo through our quick form. We paint a preview in two to three business days and email it to you. Approve it, and we send you a checkout link to pay. We only print after you've approved and paid.

Do you use AI?

We use AI as a tool inside our studio process, the same way an illustrator uses Procreate or Photoshop. Every portrait is reviewed and finished by a human. We don't ship anything that came out of a machine and stayed there.

Where are the portraits printed?

Through our print partner Gelato. US orders ship from facilities in Reno, Nevada and Sumner, Washington. International orders are printed locally in your region. Local printing means faster delivery and less shipping carbon.

Do you donate to animal charities?

Yes. A portion of every Memorial Collection sale supports senior dog rescue. We're a small studio still scaling our giving program, full details will be posted here once we're set up.
